Not all people are willing to help a homeless animal in need. However, those who find a drop of kindness in their heart are doubly rewarded in the end.
An example of this is the story of the rescue of a small stray kitten called Sticky, a story that began on a busy highway in the U.S. state of Oregon.
The kitten was nicknamed Sticky for a reason. At her young age, she was the victim of cruel people who glued her to the pavement on a busy highway.
It was early morning, people were rushing to work, and their cars either passed by, ignoring the kitten, or simply didn’t pay any attention to it.
No one knows how long the poor kitty spent on the highway, but at eight o’clock in the morning a kind person finally paid attention to it. That man turned out to be Chuck Hawley, an engineer from Silvertown, who was also rushing to work.
“I was driving down Silverton Road near Salem when I noticed something strange on the road. At first I thought it was some kind of dark box, but when I got closer I saw a kitten on the highway,” Chuck shared with reporters.
Chuck, a man with a good heart, could not pass by like the others did. He stopped his car, turned on the emergency lights, and approached the kitten. However, he had trouble picking it up in his arms. The kitten was glued to the pavement with all four paws and even its tail. Someone had carelessly left it in a puddle of glue, and the kitty was completely paralyzed.
Chuck tried to free the kitty’s paws, but was unable to do so. However, he managed to peel the glue off the pavement and take the baby with him.
Along with the kitten, he went to work, where he tried to wash it. However, the glue was too sticky, and the only way to remove it was to use mineral oil at the vet.
Chuck made the decision to take the kitten home and name him Sticky. He shared the story on his Facebook page, and the post instantly went viral. The man received many reactions from all over the world, and soon Sticky became one of the most famous cats on the Internet.
Now Chuck, Sticky’s rescuer, has become a well-known figure, an active animal protector and writer. Not only has he changed Sticky’s life, but it has also had a significant impact on his own destiny.
First, Chuck became famous around the world. He is often written about in the press, and Sticky’s Facebook page has thousands of followers.
Second, after rescuing the kitten, Chuck and his wife founded Sticky the Kitty Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps pets with health problems and animals that rescuers find on the streets.
