A man found kittens on the property, but they were not ordinary kittens

A man was working in his yard when he noticed little fluffy lumps of kittens cowering by the barn. When he came closer he saw kittens. They were very small, they hadn’t even opened their eyes yet. The mother cat was nowhere to be seen.

The farmer waited. But when he realized that the cat had not returned to the babies, he began to think about how to help them. The man didn’t know how to take care of such small kittens.

The farmer took the babies he found on the property to the Daurian zoo. The staff told him that the babies should be fed every few hours from a dropper. But it would be much better to find them a mother, putting them with a cat that recently gave birth to kittens.

Before the man left, the zoo staff decided to examine the kittens. It turned out that the babies were not born from a domestic cat at all, they were manul cubs.

Manulas are poorly studied by scientists because these wild cats are characterized by secrecy. In addition, there are few manulas left in the wild. These animals do not trust humans and are difficult to tame. Manul cubs, like other cubs of wild animals, are not distrustful of humans and can be friendly and playful.

As they get older, the friendliness of manulas decreases. They begin to avoid humans, at best they tolerate them near them, showing with all their appearance that they do not like such company.

There are people who breed manulas at home. The babies are expensive, because it is not easy to catch an animal. Manulas hide their offspring well from prying eyes, so those who were lucky enough to find the babies sell them for fabulous money.

The farmer decided not to sell the babies, because it would condemn them to a life of imprisonment. The man left the manulаs in the reserve, where specialists will take care of them.

The sanctuary staff managed to find a foster mother for the kittens, whose babies were about the same age. The manulas began to grow quickly and gain weight. In the reserve they were adapted to the wild. The cubs were released into the wild with special collars that would allow scientists to track their movements.
