Residents of these houses know that if there is a box in the dumpster, there are certainly kittens in it. This time it was so. The kittens were sitting in the cramped box, shivering with fear, huddling together.
The kittens turned out to be completely covered in lice. The fur was quite loose, with inflamed pink skin showing through. This, however, did not affect the adorableness of the little ones. Especially cute were the tassels on their ears.
Then we decided that these were the usual ear tassels that many cats have. It is quite common to find fluffy kittens with elongated muzzles in dumpsters.
The kittens were taken to a shelter where they had to undergo a long period of treatment. Compared to the other foundlings, these kittens were growing by leaps and bounds! And they were twice as old as their relatives of the same age.
When the kittens had reached the age of three months, the tassels on their ears had become very fluffy, and their faces had become even longer and harsh. And their paws became very thick and powerful. It was clear — the kittens would be not just big, but giants!
A picture of the babies was sent to a woman who breeds Maine Coons. And in the end, the breeder confirmed what we had guessed. The kittens from the dumpster turned out to be noble Maine Coons! Also we found out that in the area where the abandoned kittens were found, lives a breeder who was expelled from the club. The last time she was seen by her fellow breeders, her kittens had shingles.
We were just stunned at the time! The kittens were just poor quality merchandise that she couldn’t sell. And the mother of the babies is most likely not a beloved cat and family member, but a kitten breeding machine that constantly gives birth to such trendy little Maine Coons.
It was immediately clear to us that the kittens had to be raised until they could be spayed and neutered. Otherwise they would be taken away for breeding. So we left the two girls and their cute little brother in a holding facility for another month.
After the procedure was done, we were ready to look for a house. But we didn’t have to look for one. The veterinarians at the clinic where the kittens were examined and treated took the marbled boy and the girl with the tortoiseshell color. And the last little redheaded one was taken in by a breeder we knew.
So the stories of all three kittens ended well. All live in love and care.
