The grateful elephant decided to show her baby to the kind caretakers who saved her life.

Animals’ capacity for gratitude is amazing. This mother elephant has found a way to express her gratitude to the people who not only saved her life, but also gave her their care and love.

The David Sheldrick Wildlife Foundation takes care of orphaned elephants, keeping them until they are ready to be released into the wild. Yatta was brought to the shelter in 1999 and returned to nature 10 years later.

Eight years later, Yatta decided to visit the people who were her family. She wanted to show that she didn’t forget the people who were so nice to her.

The elephant was not alone. Yatta surprised the guardians from the orphanage by bringing her little child to show it to her guardians.

This touching moment melted the hearts of everyone in the center. They named the little creature Yo yo.

For elephants, family means absolutely everything. Back in the wild, Yatta found her own family. Therefore, it was a pleasant surprise for the staff to see how the elephant mother demonstrates her new family member.

Clearly she has not forgotten those ten wonderful years when she was surrounded by love and comfort in the center.

Elephants often return to places where they were happy.

Watch the emotional moment when the baby elephant’s mother shares her joy with her beloved guardians.
