Two women were driving on the road to Bali when one of them noticed a dog curled up in a small kennel in front of an empty villa. They immediately stopped to check on the dog. As they got closer, they saw what a bad condition the dog was in. It looked underfed. She had lost most of her hair because of scabies, which made her skin very scaly and painful.
They gave her food and water, trying not to frighten her. It took them almost an hour to gain her trust before they picked her up. When they picked up the pup, they were amazed at her calmness. The dog seemed to realize that she was finally protected, that these people had come to her rescue.
They took her to the vet, where it was confirmed that she had scabies as well as an eye infection, which fortunately was easily treated. They then brought her home to care for her comfortably while she recovered physically and mentally. They decided to name this sweet girl Lucy. Lucy’s life is still a mystery. But one thing is for sure-the days and years to come will be everything she deserves and more.
During her recovery, she had many «first steps,» including visiting the beach and walking on the grass. Lucy has come out of her shell and has become very friendly and affectionate. She loves to cuddle and enjoys playing with other dogs. A month later, Lucy finally found her home with a loving couple named Matt and Brianna from Washington, D.C.
“Given what she’s gone through, I think it’s just wonderful that she’s so kind, loving, and trusting of us,” Brianna said.
