Sarah Talbi, a woman from Belgium, was born without arms – a condition doctors could never fully explain. Yet it’s not just her physical differences that make her story so extraordinary – it’s also the way she chose to live a full, vibrant life on her own terms.
From a young age, Sarah adapted to her unique situation. She quickly learned to perform everyday tasks using only her feet – dressing, eating, combing her hair, even painting her nails and applying makeup – all with surprising ease. What would be a limitation for many, she transformed into a new way of life.
Sarah attended a regular school with other children, where she learned to write by holding a pen between her toes. Her classmates accepted her, sometimes asking questions, but never treating her as less capable. Over time, Sarah became interested in languages, especially English and Spanish. Her passion led her to study at the Translation Institute in Brussels, where she successfully completed her studies – and mastered university life with the same independence and determination she had always shown.
At home, Sara runs the household alone. She cooks, cleans, and performs everyday tasks – all with her feet. She has traveled extensively and confidently explored the world. She is convinced that she is fully functional and does not let the lack of her arms dictate what she can and cannot do.
But for Sarah, nothing compares to motherhood.
In 2018, she gave birth to a daughter, Lily. Motherhood brought new challenges for her – as it does for everyone else – but she faced them with strength and patience. She learned to feed, dress, bathe, and play with her daughter – all with her feet. It wasn’t always easy, but she has proven to herself and the world that she can handle anything.
Today, Lily is a happy and curious child. She doesn’t ask questions about her mother’s arms—she simply knows she is loved. When she goes for walks, she holds Sarah’s sleeve, and if she wants to explore, she always asks first. They share a warm, caring bond built on trust and affection.
Sarah recently discovered a new passion—painting. With her feet, she creates beautiful, nature-inspired works of art, full of emotion and color. Her work reflects the beauty she sees in the world and the strength she embodies.
She has put her journey on hold for now to focus on raising Lily, but is sure she will return one day. In the meantime, Sarah shares her story in a video blog, sharing her thoughts on her daily life. In the popular video, she demonstrates how to make pasta with tomato sauce—easily and with joy.
Sarah’s life is proof that strength isn’t about physical prowess, but it’s about attitude, determination, and heart. And he continues to inspire people around the world by showing what is truly possible.
