A 10-year-old Ohio boy has raised over $315,000 to provide bulletproof vests for police dogs

Not all heroes wear raincoats, but the kindness in their hearts and in the heart of this 10-year-old boy seems endless. Thanks to his boundless love for animals, Brady Snakowski from Strongsville, Ohio, managed to raise more than $315,000-the money he used to supply K9 agents with bulletproof vests.

It all started two years ago, after the kid watched the Live PD series with his mom. Then our hero was surprised found out that police dogs don’t automatically get issued bullet proof vests and he knew he had to do something about it.

The observation sparked the start of Brady’s K9 Fund, a non-profit that raises money to supply bullet proof vets to police and military dogs. He created a GoFundMe page, which allowed him to buy the first four vests.

Moreover, he even wrote to a local congressman asking for help.

“I want to be a cop because I want people to be safe,” Brady said at the time. “Because for these dogs that save lives, it is very important that they are also safe.”

Tornabene said that most people don’t realize that the police forces that have K9 units have to rely on the help of donations, so every dollar matters. The handlers reach out to Brady by word of mouth or via his website.

“K-9 Benny (is my favorite) because his handler was so thankful he started crying,” Brady said, adding that he’s become good friends with Benny’s handler.
