A few minutes before the wedding, I found a letter from my mother in a bag. Despite my nervousness, I opened the envelope and began to read.

A few minutes before the wedding, I was standing at the entrance to the church holding a letter from my mother that I had accidentally found in the pocket of my jacket. The bride was already waiting for me in the courtyard, adjusting her wedding dress. I stood there, trying to control my emotions.

To distract myself a little, I put my hand in my pocket, hoping to find a peppermint candy that had always helped me concentrate. Instead, I found an envelope. On it was written: “My dear son, read this letter before the wedding.”

A feeling of unease came over me. “What if this letter changes my decision?” I thought. Despite my doubts, I opened the envelope and unfolded the sheet.

“Dear son, today you are taking an important step in your life – you are starting a family. If your heart is full of love and certainty, remember my words:

Love your wife with all your heart, treat her with respect and care. Remember that sometimes appearance takes a back seat and true beauty is always hidden within us.

Support her even if she doesn’t ask for it, because women often hide their worries.

Don’t let money become the reason for arguments. Remember, happiness is not measured by wealth.

Never allow rudeness or insulting words. They hurt and leave deep scars. Remember that only your wife should be the person closest to you and dearest to you.

Appreciate what you have. A family where love and understanding reign is the most precious gift. And remember: your father and I will always be with you and support you.

With love, your mother.”

When I finished reading the letter, I felt a lump in my throat and my eyes filled with tears. This letter reminded me how lucky I am to have such parents.

Today was not only the beginning of a new chapter in my life, but also a reminder that I am ready to be a protector and support for my future wife, just as my mother taught me.
