Ashley McKee decided to please her dog before putting her to sleep. To do this, the girl went for a walk in the mountains with her pet. Maggie-Mae and Ashley have been together for 9 years. A year ago, the animal was diagnosed with arthritis. The disease progressed, caused pain and deprived the dog of the ability to move normally.
At first, Ashley took the pet for treatment, but after a while the veterinarians began to throw up their hands, as they could not help anything else. The only way to put Maggie out of her misery is to put her to sleep.
But before going to the veterinary clinic, Ashley decided to take the dog out into nature for the last time. Maggie belongs to the breed of Alaskan malamutes, which are bred to live in the snow and work in a harness. Therefore, a snowy peak is a joy for a dog. Throughout the treatment period, the owner consoled the pet with the fact that snow would soon appear. And finally took her for the last walk.
They went to the Keingroms mountain range, which is located in Scotland. For more than two hours, Maggie could enjoy the snow, lie in it and just breathe the air in an embrace with her owner.
The farewell was very touching. Ashley says that losing a pet is like losing a family member.
