About a poor boy who took the last $13 from his mother to start his own business – then they moved from a small old trailer to a $2 million house.

The poor boy begged his mother to give him the last $13 she had saved for food to start his own business.

A few months later, he took her to where they lived in an old trailer and gave her the keys to a house worth two million dollars.

Annie Byrne, Simon’s mother, always believed that children’s motivation to work hard and determination helped them become responsible adults. She was a widow, worked as a cleaner, and barely made ends meet. Despite all the hardships, she taught her son this life truth.

“Who cares that my son and I live in a rusty trailer now? One day he’ll take me to the palace and make me a queen!” she dreamed.

One day, her prayers were answered. Simon gave her the keys to a new house. Little did she know the price he paid to make her dream come true.

“Mom, when are we going to move into the beautiful house?” Simon asked. “It’s so cold and stuffy here.”

“…just give me the money and you won’t regret it,” he pleaded.

Annie couldn’t answer right away, knowing that it wouldn’t be possible anytime soon. But Simon was stubborn.

“Very soon… We’ll leave here, son,” she said through tears.

The next morning, walking alone, Simon saw a boy throwing money into a box by a lemonade stand.

“Wow! That’s amazing!” Simon exclaimed. He also wanted to earn money, but he had almost no money. He returned home and begged his mother to give him the last 13 dollars.

“But I only have 13 dollars, I have to buy bread and eggs,” Annie replied.

“Give it to me and you won’t regret it!” Simon insisted.

With doubts but curiosity, she handed him the money. Soon the boy began digging in the ground in front of the trailer, planting seeds.

“If we don’t sow today, we won’t harvest tomorrow!” he told his mother.

The boy not only watered and tended his garden, but also began selling the crops at a small stall. Very soon, people began to buy his products because they were healthy and natural.

Simon realized that his garden was too small to produce more. He expanded it, planting fruits and exotic flowers, and earned enough to move with his mother to a rented house.

The jealous farmer Alex noticed Simon’s success and wanted to know his secret. He offered the boy a job on his farm, but not as a worker, but as a partner.

“We can work together and we will succeed!” – said Alex.

After much consideration, Annie agreed, and Simon began working with Alex, not forgetting his garden.

After two years, Simon had saved up enough money to fulfill his mother’s wish. He built a house on the site of their old trailer and handed her the keys.

Annie could not believe her eyes. “You’ve made me a queen!” – she cried with joy.

“Don’t worry, Mom, I’ll do anything for you,” Simon said. “I’ll always be your little boy!”

Simon continued to grow his business, selling healthy products and expanding his success to other states.
