How many times browsing the web we stop at calls for adoption and help for abandoned dogs and cats, smile tenderly at the photos of those little faces, but in the end keep scrolling on social media because “we don’t have time to help”. Well, this story makes us realize that it’s just an excuse: a moment of our time can really make a difference for our four-legged friends.
The city of Ghaziabad, in the federal state of Uttar Pradesh in India, can boast an admirable organization of volunteer animal rights activists, with one member of honor: a grandmother who – despite her age – gets up every morning to prepare a meal for the shelter’s dogs.
The Paws in Puddle shelter acts every day to ensure the freedom and rights of abandoned and homeless animals. The members of the non-profit organization announced on their Instagram account that, despite her health problems, the sweet 90-year-old grandmother gives her help to the puppies living near her home. For starters, it should be noted that the long-lived Indian woman takes care of at least 120 dogs belonging to the organization.
“A 90-year-old grandmother who suffers from severe osteoporosis and has undergone several serious operations takes care of dogs every day,” said a shelter volunteer.
” She gets up every morning at 4:30 a.m. to cook and feed over 120 dogs. She even tries to change her recipes because she only feels her heart full when they taste everything she prepares. After each meal, when she returns, she asks me “did all the puppies eat? Are they all okay?” Then I show her the footage I record every day. She looks at each video with great joy,” he continued.
Seeing Grandma’s immense love for these animals, the young man decided to take her with him to the shelter for the first time. There were serious risks for her physical health, but she commented with a smile: “the love of dogs is the best medicine for any disease.
