Charlotte Sena, the missing nine-year-old girl who went missing from a New York park, has been found safe and sound, according to authorities. The alarm was raised over the weekend after Charlotte disappeared while biking in Moreau Lake State Park on Saturday night. When she didn’t return after 15 minutes, her parents – along with other campers – began a search. Disturbingly, however, she was nowhere to be found, prompting her family to contact police. Over 100 people and 75 law enforcement officers were deployed to search for Charlotte, using dogs, drones, boats and underwater rescue teams.
However, after two disturbing days, Charlotte’s parents received a ransom note at their home. Reports said their daughter’s abductor had driven to their home himself and placed the letter in her mailbox. How police found 9-year-old Charlotte Sena, according to NY governor “He literally drove to the family mailbox because he assumed they weren’t home,” said New York Governor Kathy Hochul. According to CNN, investigators tracked the suspect to a trailer behind his mother’s residence and gained entry with the help of two SWAT teams. “They conducted a dynamic tactical maneuver and found the suspect inside the trailer,” Hochul added. The rescue team found Charlotte hiding in a closet in the trailer and she was confirmed to be unharmed and “in good health.” “It was extraordinary to see them track the suspect back to his home,” said Governor Hochul. “The home was surrounded by law enforcement and helicopters and they were able to get her to safety.
