For several years now the squirrel has been visiting the people who saved it.

This is an extraordinary story about how animals can show gratitude and loyalty. In 2009, Brantley Harrison from South Carolina (USA) found a small squirrel that had been thrown down by an owl. Despite its serious condition, the family did everything they could to ensure the animal’s survival. They took the squirrel home, began feeding and caring for it.They named her Bella, and a strong bond quickly developed between them. After some time, Bella recovered completely thanks to loving care and a balanced diet, including fruits and nuts. The time came when she could be released into the wild, but from then on she began to visit her family regularly. This gesture was the beginning of a special bond between them and the wild.

Although Bella now lived freely in the forest, she did not forget the people who saved her life. The family, although they missed her, were pleasantly surprised when, a year later, they opened the door and saw their old friend again. Bella, even though she had grown, continued to visit her rescuers and continued to show her gratitude. She became a true member of the Harrison family, regularly visiting their garden, especially when they offered her nuts.

One of the most touching visits was when Bella arrived with an injured paw and was clearly pregnant. The family immediately took care of her, providing her with medicine and a cozy place to rest. When they put Bella in a box to rest, they discovered three newborn squirrels. These were her babies, whom she wanted to introduce to her rescuers.

This gesture came as a big surprise to the family and showed once again how animals can form close bonds with humans. It is an extraordinary story of how animals can not only show gratitude but also share their joy, becoming true friends to humans.
