Heroic train crew save bobcat frozen to tracks minutes before train sped by

A wild lynx found itself in a very delicate situation after its hind legs froze on railway tracks in British Columbia.

Fortunately, the helpless animal got a second chance thanks to the crew who saved him.
But it was not an easy rescue, as a train was due to pass in a few minutes. And it was quite difficult to approach the frightened animal.

It was a normal working day for Cobie Reed, who works as a railroad inspector in Trail, British Columbia, and his colleagues.

It was quite early in the morning when the crew began to inspect the tracks as part of their daily work.

The team must ensure that there are no obstacles on the tracks. Except this time it wasn’t like that. When they came to the Columbia River, they noticed something stuck on the tracks.

When the team got closer, the men realized that it was a lynx. Kobi and his team thought at first that the wildcat didn’t want to leave, since her breakfast-well, what was left of her – (a duck that it probably hunted) was in front of her.

But they soon realized that the lynx couldn’t really leave. Because of the extreme cold, his paws were frozen to the rails.

Less than half an hour before the next train arrived, the team knew they needed to act quickly if they wanted to save the helpless lynx.

So they decided to approach the animal carefully, cover its head with one of their jackets, and then let go.

But the rescue turned out to be much more difficult than they thought, because the lynx felt threatened when the crew approached it. And she was far from kind. Nevertheless, people finally manage to free the poor animal!
