Leonora Nameni, a woman of incredible willpower and boundless love for children, has become a real star in Ukraine. In April 2011, she set a record by giving birth to her 20th child, becoming the record holder in her country.
But her journey didn’t end there: a few years later, Leonora surprised everyone again with the birth of her 21st child This unique story began in 1989 when she married her husband Janos got to know. Since then, they have built their life together and devotedly looked after their many children. Leonora and Janos live in a two-story house where, despite the high costs, they manage to find space for each family member. Children are the center of their lives.
Today, the eldest son is married and lives separately, while the other 20 children still live with their parents. “At the beginning, everything was very difficult, especially in the first years. “When my first child was born, I never thought I would have so many,” says Leonora. Keep in mind that in the early years there were no disposable diapers and she had to wash them by hand.
However, over time it became easier. The older children helped look after the younger ones. Living in such a large family requires a lot of commitment, but Leonora and Janos remain true to their traditions: for each meal they prepare about 5-6 kilograms of food. Despite the high cost of food, the family has become accustomed to this lifestyle. Leonora dreams of building several houses for her children so that each of them has their own space when they grow up.
