After six agonizing hours, the crew managed to rescue the whale. No one could have imagined encountering such a huge marine mammal while sailing among the rocks. A similar incident occurred off the coast of Alaska. A group of sailors aboard a cruise ship suddenly discovered a large orca, about six meters long, suffering out of the water.
Naturally, they decided to stop the ship and help the whale. But helping such a large whale wasn’t easy – the only thing they could do was douse it with water to prevent it from dying. They immediately called for help. Together, they kept the whale moist.
For six hours, the people tried to help the whale – and finally, they succeeded. Some helpers were photographed, and the images spread online. The captain said the whale was crying.
Scientists debated how this huge whale could have gotten to shore. They suspected an earthquake, but that seemed unlikely.
The most important thing was: the whale was saved!
