Malakai Bayoh, 13, wowed the judges of Britain’s Got Talent

“My big dream is to be a singer,” said Malakai Bayoh, a contestant on the 16th season of the popular show Britain’s Got Talent.

After the usual, good-natured questions from the judges before the performance and a few slightly nervous responses, it was time.

“Okay, no more questions, I promise you. Good luck,” the announcer said, and it was time for Malakai to sing.

After a few chords of organ, the 13-year-old began singing the famous “Pie Jesu” from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Requiem.”

His first note made Cowell and the other judges turn their heads toward the music in amazement. By the second phrase, the entire hall was applauding.

After Malakai finished his performance with high, clean, and precise notes, everyone was on their feet.

While everyone gave a standing ovation, Cowell winked at the young singer and then quickly pressed the famous “Golden Signal,” which gives a contestant automatic entry into the semifinals.

“There’s only one word I can use to describe that… golden!” Simon declared before sending Malakai straight through to the live semi-finals.

He told Malakai:

“One of the best voices I think I’ve ever heard, this is amazing.”

Amanda added: “That was a stunning performance, totally flawless. Very composed. I looked over at your mum and sister and they were in bits, you did yourself proud.”

Alesha commented: “I don’t know what you’re channelling but whatever is pouring out of you is so heavenly I actually went into a trance.”

Bruno shared: “I was in tears because you really touched me. You sang like an angel.”

And Simon concluded: “It was like being in heaven. Thank you, thank you, thank you for coming on this show.”

Just listen to the incredible moment
