The story may make you cry… One thing is certain, it will not leave anyone indifferent… The day after Michel Blanc’s funeral, Marilou Berry paid tribute to him on Instagram. Josiane Balasko’s daughter wrote a long text in which she recounts (or imagines) what the members of Splendid said in front of his grave.
A week after Michel Blanc’s death, his relatives and his audience paid tribute to him in Paris on Thursday October 10. The funeral ceremony took place in the Saint-Eustache church, where a few unknown people were invited at the request of Ramatoulaye Diop, his last partner. All eyes were on the members of the Splendid troupe who had gathered to give him a final farewell. From Thierry Lhermitte to Gérard Jugnot, Marie-Anne Chazel, Josiane Balasko, Christian Clavier and Bruno Moynot, everyone wanted to pay homage to the unforgettable interpreter of Jean-Claude Dusse.
Dominique Lavanant, however, had not come. Once the funeral mass was over, the funeral procession headed towards Père Lachaise cemetery, where Michel Blanc will rest for eternity. The day after this moving and sometimes even comical ceremony, the tributes continued. On Friday October 11, Gérard Jugnot unveiled the gift that the entire Café-Theater group made to their deceased comrade. An emotion shared by Marilou Berry, daughter of Josiane Balasko. On the same social network, the actress reproduced the dialogue that the Splendid troupe must have had in front of the grave. “Michel would have hated this place… there are far too many trees”, “It’s between Chopin and Delacroix, that’s not bad”, “Hey, take pictures of us with our flowers”, “Let’s not forget that Michel once said: I’m bald and yet I have a very long ponytail”, wrote Marilou Berry under several photos, concluding her tribute with the words: “The Splendid, minus one”.
One passage stands out, however, because it suggests that the large bouquet of flowers brought by the members of the troupe was almost forgotten! “And those idiots didn’t understand that it was from us, they left it in front of the entrance!”, said a member of Splendid, to which another replied: “It’s the dedication (Editor’s note: written on the wreath), ‘the colleagues of the French intensity’… they didn’t understand.” Fortunately, the ceremony went exactly as Michel Blanc’s relatives had hoped and the exchange, recounted by Marilou Berry, touched Internet users. “A piece of our childhood has gone with him… I hope he ‘closes’ up there”, “What a beautiful friendship, I can imagine the sadness of this group of friends”, “I have never been so touched by the death of an actor”, reacted several Internet users, who will have great difficulty recovering from the death of this unforgettable actor.
