Children from the city of Phoenix (USA) were walking on the street and noticed an unusual kitten. The kid was crawling along the sidewalk, barely moving the plastered back part. The children picked up the kitten and brought it home to their parents. Shocked adults immediately turned to the Arizona Shih Tzu and Small Breed Rescue City Animal Rescue Center. Katie, a volunteer, arrived immediately and took the foundling to the veterinarians. The children-rescuers have already managed to give the kitten the name Cupcake
At the veterinary clinic, the Cupcake was examined and the plaster was removed. It turned out that the kitten’s paws were completely intact and had never been broken. Therefore, it is unclear why it was necessary to apply plaster at all. In addition, it turned out that the plaster was applied too tightly on one paw, which hurt the kitten and made it very difficult to remove it.
Cupcake was in very bad condition. She was exhausted and dehydrated, weighed only 400 grams, which is catastrophically small for a one-and-a-half-month-old kitten. But now the cat is in safe hands, surrounded by loving people and she has a chance of full recovery.
The staff of the rescue center noted that the kitten is very affectionate and trusting, despite everything that happened to her. The volunteers hope that after her recovery, Cupcake will find a loving family.
