This is an incredible true story about a fisherman who saved a crocodile from death. And a 22-year friendship began between them.
The friendship originated at the Reventason River in Costa Rica.
The dying crocodile was rescued by local fisherman Gilberto Chitо Shedden.
The man took care of the crocodile and returned it to the wild.
He had no idea that the next morning he would find a crocodile on his veranda, which marked the beginning of a magical 22-year friendship.
Later, a crocodile named Pocho was wounded in the left eye by a rancher who was afraid that he would attack his cattle.
When Pocho recovered, Chito made sure that he was always properly fed. Chito even kissed him, talked to him and slept next to him.
“He really lacked attention. The crocodile wanted love in order to gain a sense of life,” explains Chito.
Contrary to its cold-blooded biology, the crocodile developed a strong attachment to man.
Chito was afraid that the authorities would take away his reptile friend from him. So he hid Pocho in a secret pond in a nearby forest.
