The man took his old father to a restaurant. The father was very old and weak. While he was eating, pieces of food fell on his shirt and trousers. People turned around and looked at him with disgust, but his son remained calm.

After dinner, the son helped his father to the toilet.

The man took his old father to a restaurant. People turned around and looked at him with disgust, then one of them shouted…

There he cleaned his father’s trousers and shirt, helped him wash, lovingly combed his white hair and helped him put on his glasses. When they entered the dining room of the restaurant, there was an oppressive silence.

The only thing that could be heard was the indignant murmuring about how he could behave like that in a public place, spilling food here and there and spoiling other people’s appetites.

The son called the waiter, paid the bill, and as they were about to leave, someone called from one of the tables:

“It seems you forgot something.” The son looked around, patted his pockets, and said, “No, we didn’t leave anything.”

Then the man called, “You left something for every person in the room. You taught every son and daughter a lesson and gave hope to every parent.” The people in the room suddenly fell silent.

Each of them was ashamed to criticize the father and son; after all, one of the greatest honors that fate can bestow on us is to care for our elderly parents who have given us their time, health, and money.
