The rarest black leopard was filmed in India

Anurag Gawande is a 24-year-old wildlife photographer originally from India. He has been filming wild animals for several years. And recently he was lucky enough to see a black leopard for the second time, and even shoot a video. It is very rare to meet these predators in the wild. After all, there are only two thousand such individuals in the world.

Indian Anurag Gawande caught this rare beauty in the lens during a safari in the Indian wildlife park Tadoba Endhari. Although he met the black leopard for the second time, his feelings at this moment were “as tremulous” as the first time. This time the guy even managed to shoot a video with a rare predator.

The black leopard comes out to the road, then looks around and calmly crosses the road. “We deliberately parked the car away so that we could watch him and not scare him off. It was just an amazing experience, despite the fact that I experienced it not for the first time,” says Anurag.

There are only 2,000 black leopards in the world. And they live mainly in Southeast Asia. Their unusual color is the result of melanin, in which a black pigment develops in the skin or fur of animals due to a genetic mutation. This helps such predators in hunting. Due to the color, they become less noticeable.
