Dobri was the old man’s name, and most people would consider him living in poor conditions. Many local residents learned an important lesson about not judging people by their appearance after hearing his story. You could experience what it means to be a hero by seeing this old homeless man. Even though he lacked many valuable things, his compassion was worth more than a treasure of money. You will understand that superheroes exist after seeing what this old man achieves every day.
Here is proof that he is not what you think. Look at this old man. He is one of the best people in the world. A 101-year-old man named Dobri Dobrev became hard of hearing during World War II. He has spent decades walking 15 kilometers every day, dressed in homemade clothes and leather boots. He commutes from his town to Sofia, Bulgaria, where he spends the whole day begging for alms. Incredibly, Dobrev never sued. He survived on only about US$100.00 (about Rp1.4 million) a month.
He donated all the money he saved – more than US$50,000.00, or about Rp712 million – to orphanages across the city. He didn’t keep a penny of the money he earned. Some call him “The Saint of Baylovo,” where he was born. He is revered by all, known as “Dyado Dobri” (Grandpa Dobri), and represents outstanding gestures with the highest altruism. This is a good example to follow if you need it. The world would be a much better place if everyone just tried to be a little like him.
