Tatiana Santiago never considered herself slim, but for a long time, her weight remained within the normal range.
In 2020, however, her life changed. The loss of her child was a real shock, and she began eating to ease her pain.
By the end of the year, Tatiana’s weight exceeded 200 kilograms, and she fell into a vicious cycle of stress, overeating, and listlessness.
She didn’t realize how much this lifestyle had consumed her—until one day, when she looked in the mirror and didn’t recognize herself anymore. That’s when she decided to make a change.
The first step was exercise. She started with long walks and then joined a swimming pool. Gradually, she learned to enjoy the exercise, and her body responded positively to the new habits.
The second step was giving up unhealthy, yet beloved, foods. She eliminated convenience foods and high-carbohydrate foods from her diet.
The results weren’t long in coming. By January 2023, Tatiana had lost almost 100 kilograms. But then she faced a new challenge: Doctors diagnosed her with fatty liver disease.
This was a wake-up call. Despite her successes, her body needed radical treatment. Tatiana agreed to gastric bypass surgery.
After the surgery, she continued her healthy lifestyle. She began exercising six times a week.
When she returned home after all these changes, her family didn’t recognize her at first.
Tatiana Santiago now weighs 75 kilograms. Today, she looks proudly in the mirror and has finally learned to love herself.
