Viewers Are Moved to Tears by American Idol’s Abi Carter’s haunting rendition of This Classic 2000s Song

From the very first episode of American Idol, California resident and competitor Abi Carter has made her immense singing talent clear to audiences. The judges have already given the 21-year-old two Platinum tickets, and she has more than 100,000 followers across all of her social media channels. But the performance that got her into the top ten had to have been her best to date. Many viewers praised her for giving the song a fresh interpretation through her performance.

The pop-punk band My Chemical Romance’s 2006 single “The Black Parade” was the selection for the singer’s performance. However, Carter’s rendition was everything but pop-punk; her singing began softly and delicately before reaching a series of powerful high notes that enthralled the live audience. Beautiful and graceful, Carter sat at the piano the whole time, and after she finished playing, she smiled gratefully at the judges.

In a nutshell, Carter’s brilliance as a singer has been on full display this season of American Idol. The solo performances of songs like “Welcome to the Black Parade” and her collaborations with her competitors clearly demonstrate this. Nevertheless, her ability to outperform the competitors and secure first place will be determined by the passage of time.
