We were visiting our son and daughter-in-law for a week, but that same night we had to stay in a hotel.❤️

My son’s fate took a turn when he met his future wife online. They communicated remotely for a long time, as she was from another city.

We went to visit our son and daughter-in-law for a week, but that very evening we had to stay in a hotel.

My son was madly in love with her, and one day, deciding he couldn’t wait any longer, he packed his things and went to her. He had promised to return in a month to bring his beloved home, but when he found her, he decided to stay in her city.

Since he found an excellent job, he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to stay, and soon they celebrated their wedding, to which they invited my husband and me.

My daughter-in-law turned out to be a truly wonderful woman: kind, attentive, and a pleasure to talk to. After the wedding, the young couple lived in a rented apartment, but when my daughter-in-law became pregnant, they decided to buy a house and chose a two-bedroom apartment.

Although we spoke often on the phone, I missed my son and grandson very much, and these conversations weren’t enough. My daughter-in-law, who understood my homesickness, bought us train tickets and invited us to spend a week with them.

I was so happy! I bought some gifts for my nephew, packed some souvenirs, and soon we set off.

When we arrived, my daughter-in-law welcomed us warmly, offered us some food, and we spent the night talking and laughing. We had decided to take a walk around the city the next day and then rest.

At first, I thought my husband and I would sleep in the young couple’s bed, since they had a two-bedroom apartment. But my daughter-in-law said she had prepared a bed for us in the children’s room.

“We have a comfortable air mattress,” she explained, “and I don’t want strangers sleeping in our bed.”

My son tried to persuade her, but at that moment I couldn’t bear it anymore. My nerves couldn’t handle the situation, and without hiding my disappointment, I declared:

“I won’t sleep on the floor! Who do you take me for? We’re going to a hotel.”

With those words, I realized I didn’t want to stay in that house any longer and that I never wanted to see my daughter-in-law again. What humiliation!
