The elderly Rose from the movie “Titanic”: this is what she was like in her youth

Viewers may remember that the love story on the “unsinkable” ship was told by the already elderly Rose, whose role was played by the stunning actress Gloria Stewart.

Gloria Stewart’s acting career was built not only in movies, but also in theater. During her 70 years of work, she starred in over 100 films and shows. The most famous in the career of the American actress were the roles in “The Invisible Man” (1933) and “Titanic”. In the latter she starred at the age of 87 years.

For her role as Rose Dewitt Bukater, Gloria Stewart was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award, making her the oldest actress nominated for an Academy Award. She also received a special award from the Screen Actors Guild of America for her boundless dedication to filmmaking.

In 2005, the actress was diagnosed with lung cancer. Gloria tried not to pay much attention to the disease and continued to work in the film industry. In June 2010, she celebrated her centennial. Three months later, the actress died of respiratory failure at her home.
