The family saved five foxes. One remained in the family and was raised by dogs

Last year, in the spring, a farmer found five small fluffy lumps in his barn. At first, he thought that it was a cat that had given birth and abandoned its cubs.

Coming closer, the man realized that these were small, newly born foxes. They looked like they were about two days old, and their mother wasn’t around.

The farmer’s daughter Gemma was worried about the foxes, but she did not touch them. The girl decided to wait and see if the mother of the foxes would return.

A day later, nothing has changed. The fox mom never showed up. The family decided to place the red-haired foundlings in a special shelter. They will be fed there. And when they grow up, they will be released to their habitat. However, it turned out quite differently.

Five days later, a fox cub opened its eyes and saw Gemma. The fox cub took the girl for its mother and became very attached to her. Foxes and dogs have an imprinting period in the first days of life – the cub remembers what it sees first.

The individual follows this image, repeats all the habits and becomes attached like a child to its mother.

Gemma could not resist the affection and love of a little red-haired crumb and took her to herself. Now the girl and her young man Dan are raising a pet. They named her Vixie and are messing with her like a beloved child. The fox does not have the character of a wild animal. She is affectionate, calm and friendly.

The rest of the foxes from the litter are not used to people. They were sent to a shelter and then released into the wild.
