They bought the ruins: the family turned an abandoned house into a mansion worth $1.5 million (photos in the article)

The modern reincarnation of the building, built according to an individual architect’s design in 2013, radiates high interior quality when people cross the threshold of the entrance door.

The Doi family, who bought and renovated the crumbling West View Farm near the coast in Wales, turned it into their dream home worth $1.5 million. This is reported by The Mirror.

Some buyers, considering a potential new home, can hardly imagine how they can change the decor, fit furniture into it or redo the space in accordance with their lifestyle. However, the Doi family, visiting an abandoned former farmhouse located in the Pembrokeshire Bones National Park, was able to see in it a potential future modern housing.

The publication notes that the house, situated on 16 acres of predominantly flat terrain, offers expansive views of the coastline and castle. It is rare to find a building in such a favorable location with a panoramic sea view and such a vast plot of land.

The Doi family clearly knew what they were doing when they purchased the house, which was in ruins and filled with debris and dust. Looking at the property in its current state, the main addition to the former partially collapsed building is the end wing, designed in a way to fully showcase mesmerizing views from both floors.

The floor-to-ceiling windows and doors completely enclose the end part of the new extension. The living room, situated on the lower level, boasts the most advantageous position within the glass section of the house. Sitting by the doors and windows, offering views on three sides, one can feel almost fully immersed in the rural landscape even in inclement weather.

In good weather, you can open the doors leading directly to the sunny terrace with a bench, offering possibly the best countryside views in the area. The main living room is spacious, and its warmth and coziness are enhanced by the light-toned wooden floor and a large fireplace with logs.

Upstairs is the homeowner’s bedroom, which also benefits from floor-to-ceiling window panels. Thanks to the presence of a balcony, doors can be opened here as well.

The main bedroom features a corridor of built-in closets from the entrance to the main sleeping area, ensuring no chance of cluttering the unobstructed view with unnecessary furniture, except for the bed and a couple of comfortable chairs by the window.

West View Farm is listed for sale with an asking price of over 1.5 million dollars. According to the selling agent, the house’s energy efficiency corresponds to an “A” rating.
